I have over 10 years professional experience in computer programming, primarily working as part of a team creating large database systems.
Initially, I worked as a Foxpro developer creating bespoke stock management, order processing and accounting software for companies in the textile industry. After this, I was employed as a computer programmer by a company creating management and accounting software for the drinks logistics industry. The software was based on Oracle databases, so the main programming aspects primarily involved Oracle Forms, Oracle Report Builder and PL/SQL. I was heavily involved in the stock management aspect of the industry which led to the creation of a warehouse management system that utilised handheld barcode scanners for real time order picking and stock level maintenance. This system was coded using Visual Basic 6.0., as also was a Point of Sale system which I coded.
More recently, I have worked on a self-employed basis and have created and maintained websites for small businesses and organisations.
