Apple And Raisin Crumble



Serves 4

Ingredients
4 apples (about 500g), peeled, cored, quartered and sliced
50g raisins
75g dark brown sugar
100g plain flour
50g butter or margarine, cut into small cubes
2 tbsp water
1 tsp ground cinnamon
juice of 1 lemon

Method
Preheat the oven to 180C
Mix the sliced apple with the raisins and the lemon juice and put in an ovenproof dish
Sprinkle the apple with 25g of the sugar, the water and cinnamon. Mix well
Put the flour and butter or margarine in a bowl. Rub the butter or margarine into the flour between the thumbs and the fingertips. Repeat this until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs (this can be done in a food processor)
Stir the remaining sugar in the flour and fat mix
Spoon over the apple mixture and press down
Bake in the oven for 45 minutes until golden and the apple is cooked
